All our designs are created using CSS, XHTML and HTML5. CSS has many advantages over the old way of creating websites where using tables for layout was the norm, and presentational elements such as font colours, font sizes and background styles were all mixed and contained within the HTML document.

Doing things this way causes a lot of problems for both end users and webmasters. End users have to deal with slow loading pages and the site looks different depending on which browser you are using. As for webmasters, their task becomes a nightmare when it comes to making amendments. A simple change of colour can take a long time as all occurrences of that change need to be located and altered. This requires opening many different files.

CSS solves many of these problems so that how the page looks and its layout are separate. HTML is used for the layout and the presentation of the layout is controlled by the CSS. This means that HTML webpages are much leaner and cleaner, so they load faster and are much more search engine friendly. With this way of doing things, changing an elements colour now becomes very easy regardless of how big the website is. All you have to do is make the change in the css once and all the occurrences of that element are affected.
